Translator: [Translator Name]
This contract (“Agreement”) is made and entered into on the date of acceptance by the Translator, and is by and between [Organization Name] (“Producer”), and [Translator Name] (“Translator”).
1. Engagement:
Producer hereby engages Translator to provide translation services for the theatre production of [Production Name] (“Production”). Translator shall be responsible for translating the script of the Production from [Original Language] to [Translation Language].
2. Deliverables:
Translator shall be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Attend all rehearsals and production meetings as scheduled by Producer
- Translate the script of the Production from [Original Language] to [Translation Language]
- Maintain the confidentiality of all information and materials related to the Production
- Adhere to professional standards of conduct and behavior at all times
Producer shall be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Provide Translator with the necessary script in [Original Language]
- Provide Translator with a schedule of rehearsals and production meetings in advance
- Pay Translator the agreed upon compensation in a timely manner
1. Timeline:
The term of this Agreement shall commence on [Start Date] and shall continue until [End Date] or completion of the translation of the script, whichever occurs first. Rehearsals and production meetings shall take place from [Rehearsal Start Date] to [Rehearsal End Date]. Performances shall take place from [Performance Start Date] to [Performance End Date].
2. Compensation:
In consideration for the services to be rendered by Translator hereunder, Producer shall pay Translator the sum of [Compensation Amount] for the translation of the script. Payment shall be made upon completion of the translation. Translator shall also be entitled to a share of the net profits of the Production, as determined by Producer in its sole discretion.
3. Termination:
This Agreement may be terminated by either party at any time, for any reason, upon written notice to the other party. In the event of termination by Producer, Translator shall be entitled to receive compensation for all services rendered up to the date of termination.
4. Confidentiality:
Translator shall maintain the confidentiality of all information and materials related to the Production, including but not limited to scripts, production plans, and personnel information. Translator shall not disclose any such information to any third party without the prior written consent of Producer.
5. Indemnification:
Translator shall indemnify and hold harmless Producer, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any and all claims, damages, or expenses arising out of or in connection with Translator’s performance of services under this Agreement.
6. Governing Law:
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [State].
