A sample legal agreement between a performing arts organisation and a Graphic Designer for a theatre production.

Performing Arts Organization: [Organization Name]
Graphic Designer: [Graphic Designer Name]

This contract (“Agreement”) is made and entered into on the date of acceptance by the Graphic Designer, and is by and between [Organization Name] (“Producer”), and [Graphic Designer Name] (“Graphic Designer”).

1. Engagement:
Producer hereby engages Graphic Designer to design promotional materials for the theatre production of [Production Name] (“Production”). Graphic Designer shall be responsible for creating and designing promotional materials for the Production, including but not limited to posters, flyers, and social media graphics.
2. Deliverables:
Graphic Designer shall be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Attend all production meetings as scheduled by Producer
- Create and design promotional materials for the Production, including posters, flyers, and social media graphics
- Maintain the confidentiality of all information and materials related to the Production
- Adhere to professional standards of conduct and behavior at all times

Producer shall be responsible for the following deliverables:

- Provide Graphic Designer with a schedule of production meetings in advance
- Pay Graphic Designer the agreed upon compensation in a timely manner
1. Timeline:
The term of this Agreement shall commence on [Start Date] and shall continue until [End Date] or completion of the run of the Production, whichever occurs first.
2. Compensation:
In consideration for the services to be rendered by Graphic Designer hereunder, Producer shall pay Graphic Designer the sum of [Compensation Amount] for the creation and design of promotional materials for the Production. Payment shall be made upon completion of the deliverables. Graphic Designer shall also be entitled to a share of the net profits of the Production, as determined by Producer in its sole discretion.
3. Termination:
This Agreement may be terminated by either party at any time, for any reason, upon written notice to the other party. In the event of termination by Producer, Graphic Designer shall be entitled to receive compensation for all services rendered up to the date of termination.
4. Confidentiality:
Graphic Designer shall maintain the confidentiality of all information and materials related to the Production, including but not limited to scripts and production plans. Graphic Designer shall not disclose any such information to any third party without the prior written consent of Producer.
5. Indemnification:
Graphic Designer shall indemnify and hold harmless Producer, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any and all claims, damages, or expenses arising out of or in connection with Graphic Designer’s performance of services under this Agreement.
6. Governing Law:
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [State].
