This contract (“Agreement”) is made and entered into on the date of acceptance by the dramaturg, and is by and between [Organization Name] (“Producer”), and [Dramaturg Name] (“Dramaturg”).
1. Engagement:
Producer hereby engages dramaturg to provide dramaturgical services for the theatre production of [Production Name] (“Production”). Dramaturg shall be responsible for all dramaturgical aspects of the Production, including but not limited to script analysis, research, and development.
2. Deliverables:
Dramaturg shall be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Attend all rehearsals and production meetings as scheduled by Producer
- Submit a written report on the dramaturgical elements of the Production to Producer by [Report Submission Date]
- Maintain the confidentiality of all information and materials related to the Production
- Adhere to professional standards of conduct and behavior at all times
Producer shall be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Provide dramaturg with the necessary scripts and production plans
- Provide dramaturg with a schedule of rehearsals and production meetings in advance
- Pay dramaturg the agreed upon compensation in a timely manner
1. Timeline:
The term of this Agreement shall commence on [Start Date] and shall continue until [End Date] or completion of the run of the Production, whichever occurs first. Rehearsals and production meetings shall take place from [Rehearsal Start Date] to [Rehearsal End Date]. Performances shall take place from [Performance Start Date] to [Performance End Date].
2. Compensation:
In consideration for the services to be rendered by dramaturg hereunder, Producer shall pay dramaturg the sum of [Compensation Amount] per week. Payment shall be made on a biweekly basis. dramaturg shall also be entitled to a share of the net profits of the Production, as determined by Producer in its sole discretion.
3. Termination:
This Agreement may be terminated by either party at any time, for any reason, upon written notice to the other party. In the event of termination by Producer, dramaturg shall be entitled to receive compensation for all services rendered up to the date of termination.
4. Confidentiality:
Dramaturg shall maintain the confidentiality of all information and materials related to the Production, including but not limited to scripts, character descriptions, and production plans. dramaturg shall not disclose any such information to any third party without the prior written consent of Producer.
5. Indemnification:
Dramaturg shall indemnify and hold harmless Producer, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any and all claims, damages, or expenses arising out of or in connection with dramaturg’s performance of services under this Agreement.
6. Governing Law:
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [State].
